Naquan Clarke, 22, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals from Connecticut and New York City after he was spotted inside a residence on 157th St., in Queens, said Brian O’Neill, with the U.S. Marshals District of Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force.

After refusing to open the door,  U.S. Marshals were eventually able to gain entry through an open window of the residence and were able to arrest Clarke without further incident, O'Neill said.

In the early hours of Feb.14, Bridgeport Police officers pulled Clarke over during a motor vehicle traffic stop. During the traffic stop, Clarke was asked to exit the vehicle, he then fled the scene dragging both Bridgeport officers, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.

On Feb. 20, the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force along with Task Force Officers from the Bridgeport Police Department were requested to locate and arrest Clarke who was wanted for aggravated assault.

“Anytime a law enforcement officer is hurt during the line of duty our Task Force will pull out all the stops to assist in any way possible to locate and arrest that individual,” said U. S. Marshal Brian Taylor, District of Connecticut. “This was just another example of the excellent collaboration between the U. S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and our full-time partners,” said Taylor.

Clarke will be held pending extradition from New York.
